    Crowne Plaza Shanghai is the only five-star foreign business hotel invested and built by a film agency in China, which is affiliated with Shanghai Film Group Co., Ltd, and managed by InterContinental Hotels Group. 上海是中国电影的发祥地，在上海举办国际电影节是几代人共同的愿望。上世纪80年代，当中国打开改革开放的大门，中国电影开始以崭新的面貌走出国门，秦怡、张瑞芳、吴贻弓等电影艺术家都梦寐以求能在上海举办国际性的电影节，但举办国际电影节首先要具备符合国际性标准的场所，当时上海电影局就利用多年的财政积累、花了很大心血，按国际标准和电影节专业要求于１９９２年建造了上海银星皇冠假日酒店。在长达十几年的发展过程中，银星并没有停下过脚步，始终站在一个全新的高度，为未来的发展谋求新出路。于是在２００９年４月，上海银星皇冠假日酒店金爵楼正式开张剪彩。酒店开始以崭新的面貌出现在世人的眼前。回顾这将近二十年的风雨历程，上海银星皇冠假日酒店一直在不断书写着属于自己的辉煌篇章。
    Shanghai is the birthplace of Chinese film. Holding International Film Festival in Shanghai is a common desire of generations. In the 1980s, when the door of economic reform was opened, Chinese film started to go abroad with a new look. Many movie artists, such as Qin Yi, Zhang Ruifang and Wu Yigong, were dreaming to hold international film festival in Shanghai. However, it could not be held until having a place in line with international standards. Given this, Shanghai Film Bureau spent years of financial fund and effort to build Crowne Plaza Shanghai in 1992 based on international standards and professional requirements of film festival. In the course of several decades of development, the hotel has been going non-stop, while standing in a new level to look for a way out for future development. In April 2009, ribbon-cutting ceremony was officially held in Jin Jue Building of Crowne Plaza Shanghai. The hotel started to appear in the world's eyes with a new look. Looking back on nearly two decades of ups and downs, Crowne Plaza Shanghai has been constantly writing its own glorious chapters.
